HOW SOON CAN I BRING MY EQUIPMENT AFTER SIGN UP?
Client may bring the equipment immediately after sign up.

WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE?
ABT Info.net will provide 24/7*365 support with 100% availablity of power with maximum network uptime.

WHAT SUPPORT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT NO EXTRA CHARGE?
No charges are applicable to FSCK, start a service, etc.. Request for reboots can be done. But Abtinfo.net is not responsible for loss of any data due to the reboot.

CAN I COME AND WORK ON MY SERVER(S) COLOCATED AT Abtinfo.net DATA CENTER?
Yes the customer can come and work on their server(s) co-located at Abtinfo.net.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN COLOCATION AND DEDICATED-SERVER SOLUTIONS?
Dedicated servers are more entry level than co-location solutions. One would get a dedicated server when they require more customization than a simple virtual account can offer. A Colocation solution allows you to utilize any hardware that is necessary in order to fulfill your application's needs (whether it is dual processors, complex raid configurations, etc.)

A co-location server is brought by the client depending upon his application requirement. It can be upgraded at anytime by the client. Dedicated server is provided by Abtinfo.net on a rental basis to the customer. He has to have the help of the Abtinfo.net technical support team for up gradation of the server and it would incur cost

What about the security in the Abtinfo.net DATA CENTER
Our building is manned 24 x 7 by security personnel and only customers who are on the clearance list will be allowed inside.

Does Abtinfo.net MANAGE COLOCATED SERVERS?
The client is solely responsible for the administration of the server while Abtinfo.net is responsible for the stability and functionality of the network. The operating system installation (or reinstall) can be done by Abtinfo.net and the rest of the administration must be done by the client remotely once the server is online.

Is it possible to get a customized PRICE rather than the price quoted in the website?
Yes, you can place your order in the order form available in the ABTInfo.net website and if you still need customized price for the co-location service please mail to info@abtinfo.net. Your request would be immediately looked upon and a person from the sales department would get in touch with you.

Does Abtinfo.net provide any services related to system administration for the provided dedicated server?
Basically no. But administration services can be provided on chargeable basis .

DOES my DEDICATED SERVER comes along with a control panel
No. The dedicated server is provided only with an Operating system (Either Microsoft windows or Linux).

IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY SERVER THAT I CAN'T SOLVE ON MY SIDE, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
We are always ready to help our customers. If you face such a kind of problem you must log the details in the trouble ticket and the technical person will handle the problem accordingly.

How long does it take to set-up a new account under shared hosting?
A new account is immediately created once we receive the confirmation from the sales team. The account creation takes a maximum time of 30 minutes. Once your account is set-up, you will be emailed your Account Login information (User ID, Password & FTP details) along with some useful URLs to help you get started.

All payments are accepted as DD or Cheque and they should be taken against the name “Abtinfo.net” payable at coimbatore.

What are the control panels with which you provide webhosting service.
We provide shared hosting service on some of the best known control panels available in the market. The control panels we provide are Ensim Pro on windows and linux platforms

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can Contact the sales department for your requirement.

Is my site backed up and how often?
It is the clients responsibility to do all back ups of their site. If, in the unfortunate event, something happens to your files, it is your responsibility to have a local copy of your files. We are NOT held liable in any way for any files, money, time, effort, etc...

Lost due to this unfortunate event. Furthermore, if your files are lost, we will attempt to restore them as a gesture of good faith, but make no promises what so ever about whether the files will be brought back successfully or not.

What is an Account Control Panel?
A control panel is a very important part of a web hosting package. It lets users administer and control all the aspects of their web site including FTP, e-mail management, database configuration, web site statistics, bandwidth usage, disk space usage and do a lot more with a simple point-and-click interface.

What is an FTP Account?
FTP stands for "file transfer protocol". An FTP account entitles a user to upload files to a web server from a local computer. The user is assigned a unique login ID and password to log into his/her FTP account.

What are sub domains and why are they so useful?
Sub domains are used to divide websites into different sections. Usually the sub domain is a descriptive name placed before the main domain. For example, Yahoo has several sub domains for their website. The finance section is under the sub domain finance.yahoo.com and their shopping section has the sub domain shopping.yahoo.com.

How much space and bandwidth will I need?
For a small site with not so much traffic, not so much. Your needs in this case can be met with 10 to 100 MB of disk space and 1 to 10 GB of data transfer per month.

I have my domain name registered with some other registrars and not with Abtinfo.net. But I have got the web space from Abtinfo.net. In order to work with my domain what should I do?
When a domain name is registered, minimum two Name servers are provided to that domain while registration. Hence to work with your domain name at Abtinfo.net you have to request the company that had registered your domain name to initiate the NAME TRANSFER from the existing NAME SERVERS to the NAME SERVERS at Abtinfo.net.

Next we cannot renew your domain name since you had registered the domain name with some other company. We do new domain registration also.

I have registered and hosted my site at some X webhosting company. I receive lot of spam and virus mails to my domain. Do u provide any virus and spamming solutions.

Internet Related Terms

Domain Name
Domain name that identifies one or more IP addresses. For example, the domain name microsoft.com represents about a dozen IP addresses. Domain names are used in URLs to identify particular Web pages. For example, in the URL http://www.abtinfo.net/Interms, the domain name is Abtinfo.net

DNS
Short for Domain Name System (or Service or Server), an Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. Because domain names are alphabetic, they're easier to remember. In Internet terminology, a generic name for a list of e-mail addresses or IP addresses that are originating with known spammers. Individuals and enterprises can use blacklists to filter out unwanted e-mails, as most e-mail applications today have filtering capabilities.

Mail Relay
Often referred to as an e-mail server, a device and/or program that routes an e-mail to the correct destination. Mail relays are typically used within local networks to transmit e-mails among local users. (For example, all of the student and faculty e-mail of a college campus.) Mail relays are particularly useful in e-mail aliasing where multiple e-mail addresses are used but the mail relay forwards all messages to the specified e-mail addresses to one single address.

A mail relay is different than an open relay, where an e-mail server processes a mail message that that neither originates or ends with a user that is within the server’s local domain (i.e., local IP range).

Open Relay
Also referred to as an open relay server, an SMTP e-mail server that allows a third party to relay e-mail messages, i.e., sending and/or receiving e-mail that is not for or from a local user. Open relays make it possible for mobile users to connect to corporate networks by going first through a local ISP, which then forwards the message to their home ISP, which then forwards the message to the final destination. However, a downside of open relay technology is the proliferation of its usage by spammers looking to obscure or even hide the source of the large-volume e-mails they send.

Open relay also is called spam relay, third-party relay or insecure relay.

Some people define spam even more generally as any unsolicited e-mail. However, if a long-lost brother finds your e-mail address and sends you a message, this could hardly be called spam, even though it's unsolicited. Real spam is generally e-mail advertising for some product sent to a mailing list or newsgroup.

In addition to wasting people's time with unwanted e-mail, spam also eats up a lot of network bandwidth. Consequently, there are many organizations, as well as individuals, who have taken it upon themselves to fight spam with a variety of techniques. But because the Internet is public, there is really little that can be done to prevent spam, just as it is impossible to prevent junk mail. However, some online services have instituted policies to prevent spammers from spamming their subscribers.

Major Domo
A free mailing list server that runs under UNIX. When e-mail is addressed to a Majordomo mailing list, it is automatically broadcast to everyone on the list. The result is similar to a newsgroup or forum, except that the messages are transmitted as e-mail and are therefore available only to individuals on the list.

MX Record
Short for mail exchange record, an entry in a domain name database that identifies the mail server that is responsible for handling e-mails for that domain name. When more than one MX record is entered for any single domain name that is using more than one mail server, the MX record can be prioritized with a preference number that indicates the order in which the mail servers should be used. This enables the use of primary and backup mail servers.
